Skyline diagnostic
Have you heard of the Skyline Diagnostic Tool? I hadn't come across it until VMware Explorer 2022. It's a component of VMware Skyline, designed to help users gather diagnostic information about their VMware products to streamline troubleshooting.
I fancy this tool a lot and its very easy to set up. Simply download the OVA files from the official VMware website, complete the necessary configurations, and you're ready to use the Skyline Diagnostic Tool. With this tool, you can upload logs from an ESXi host to identify issues, enabling faster troubleshooting and proactive problem detection. Below are some screenshots of me using the tool to analyze a set of logs:
As shown in the pictures above, I'm analyzing a set of logs from an ESXi host. The tool provides detailed information about issues with the host, along with relevant Knowledge Base (KB) articles to help resolve them. It also offers insights into driver status, indicating whether updates or patches are needed. This makes it an excellent tool for quickly analyzing and optimizing your environment.
